Green Pool Clean Ups
Every pool owner has had a battle with pool algae. Many believe pool algae is caused by just bad water chemistry, this isn't true is most cases. Algae can enter the pool from rain, landscape debris, even our swim suits. Mix that with the sunlight, warm water, poor chemistry, poor circulation and algae can seemingly appear over night.
Common Algae Types:
Green Algae: Probably the most common type of pool algae, Green Algae is found on pool walls and surfaces, it reduces water clarity, imparting a clear green color to the water.
Yellow Algae: Sometimes called Mustard Algae, it is a yellow and greenish algae usually found on the shady side of the pool clinging to walls and surfaces. Yellow Algae is hard to eradicate, homeowners often spend a season fighting it as it is resistant to normal chlorine levels.
Black Algae: The most difficult type of algae to eradicate, Black Algae appears as small black or dark green/blue spots on surfaces. Most common in plaster pools, it will bury it’s roots directly into the plaster though prevention, through regular Weekly Service, is the best defense.
If your pool suffers from any of these pesky symptoms, we will come out and evaluate what has caused the problem and use a variety of chemicals to treat and eliminate the problem. However, if you catch it quickly enough, shock treatments and running the pump continuously can kill the algae and turn your pool from swampy green back to sparkling blue. However, leaving a green pool untreated for even a couple of days may require methods that are more aggressive. Your pool may even need to be drained, scrubbed, refilled, and balanced.
If you are in need of a Green Pool Clean, please call and schedule a tech to come inspect your pool and let you know what your pool needs to go back to blue and provide you with an estimate for the service.

Filter Cleans
As your pool water circulates, it runs through the pool filter, which removes all the dirt, grime, and bacteria from the water. And, just like the A/C filter in your home or the air filter in your car, your pool filter gets dirty while performing its job. When the filter gets too dirty, water passing through it picks up some of that dirt and grime, carrying it right back into your pool.
This does more than make the water unsanitary. It also affects the filter’s efficiency, wearing out your pool equipment quicker and leading to costly repairs. Cleaning your pool filter regularly helps guard against these issues.
Cartridge Filters: These filters require you to clean them at least twice per year, preferably before and after swim season.
D.E Filters: With these filters you must backwash anytime the filter rises about "Normal" level. Like Cartridge Filters, these require you to clean and inspect the grids at least twice a year.
Sand Filters: These filters can be backwash as needed. We recommend you change the sand at least every 3 - 5 years.
We inspect the filters on every service of your pool to insure they are working properly. We also send you reminders for your convenience to remind you that your filter clean or sand change is coming due.

Drains & Acis Washes
Drains: Arizona has tough water to start with, so we recommend draining and refilling your pool with new water every 3-4 years (depending on chemical readings).
Chlorine Washes: Sometimes green pools are past the point of saving. So solve this we recommend draining and washing the walls and floors with chlorine to completely clean and remove the algae.
Acid Washes: Dust in Arizona gets bad we can agree. A lot of times if that dust is not properly brushed or vacuumed from the pool floor is can cause staining. Or maybe something metal fell in the pool and put a rust stain. Acid washes can help remove the dirt and other issues from the surface and bring back the original colors.
